Bahir Dar, positioned in northwestern Ethiopia, it is an enchanting city on the southern shores of Lake Tana, serving as capital of the Amhara Administrative Region in northwestern Ethiopia. Nestled along the southern shoreline of Lake Tana, the city witnesses local fishermen utilizing papyrus boats at the origin of the Blue Nile (Abay). Approximately 310 km northwest of Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar is situated at 11°36’N, 37°23’E latitude and longitude, with an elevation of 1700m above sea level.
